design inspired by nature

Hi there!

You may be wondering about the name Terra Obsidian, pronounced teh-ruh uhb-si-dee-uhn, I’m so glad you asked! Terra means land and to me represents the essence of nature - grounded, comforting and warm. Beyond being something that reminds me of my childhood, Obsidian is a naturally occurring glass that is formed when lava meets a water source, perfectly embodying the spirit of transformation that happens through design work!

A home should be your sanctuary, a respite from the craziness of the world but it also needs to function for you and your family and tell YOUR story. I love to create spaces that are beautiful yet functional, inspiring yet livable and welcoming.

Does that sound great but you aren't quite sure how to make that happen? I would love to help you! Check out some of my recent projects below to learn more.

Making our house a home

A designer's work is never done - much to my husband's dismay :) We're slowly making our house into a home that feels like us - a blend of New Mexico high desert and Pacific Northwest through colors, textures and materials.
